Our Mission Statement

At Thames View, every child belongs, achieves and thrives through an ambitious curriculum that develops confident, curious and responsible Global Citizens, ready to make a positive difference to their community and the wider world.

Our vision is to develop every child as a confident, curious and responsible Global Citizen. We want pupils to understand who they are, where they belong, how the world works and how they can make a positive contribution to it.

Our curriculum begins with children’s own experiences — their families, school and local community — before broadening their understanding of Kent, the wider UK and the wider world.

Through our values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience, pupils learn to value themselves and others, take responsibility for their choices and develop the confidence to face challenges. We want every child to leave Thames View with strong academic foundations, a love of learning, a sense of belonging and the knowledge, character and ambition to help shape a fairer, healthier and more sustainable future.

Our Ethos

Our ethos is rooted in belonging, ambition and care. Our values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience guide everything we do, creating a safe, calm and nurturing environment where every child is known, valued and supported to thrive.

We combine high expectations with positive relationships and appropriate support. Children are taught to understand their choices, learn from mistakes and develop the confidence, curiosity and responsibility to make positive decisions for themselves.

Through our curriculum and wider school life, we prepare pupils to become thoughtful Global Citizens who contribute positively to their community and the wider world.

Resilience

We teach pupils that challenge is part of learning and part of life. Children are supported to think deeply, solve problems, adapt to change and persevere when things are difficult. Through this, they develop the confidence and character needed to thrive in school and contribute positively to the wider world.

Respect

We teach children to value themselves, others and the world around them. Pupils learn to celebrate similarities and differences between people, cultures, beliefs and communities, and to listen thoughtfully to different perspectives. Through this, they develop the empathy and understanding needed to become respectful Global Citizens.

Responsibility

We teach pupils that their choices matter. Children learn to take ownership of their learning, behaviour and actions, while understanding their role in caring for their school, their community and the wider world.
